YMHC Learn to Play Program

The following details apply to year 2 of our Learn to Play program for the 2018 / 2019 season:

Eligibility: Particiants must be born in 2012 to 2013 (age 5 to 6).  

Sessions:  We offer 2 sessions of 8 lessons each - a fall and winter session.    Fall  session: Sunday Oct 21 to Sunday December 9, 2018.  Winter session: Sunday January 13 to Sunday March 3, 2019.

Cost:  The cost to participate in either session is $300.00.  You will receive 8 lessons, a sweater, socks amd an individual and group photograph. 

Location and Time: York Mills Arena. Fall session starts at 4:45pm until 5:45pm and 5:45 until 6:45pm. The winter session starts at 5:45pm to 6:45pm. 

Program:  Participant's should have no previous hockey experience.  Partricipant's should have the ability to get up and down and walking or striding are helpful.  Particiant's are to bring a stick and wear full hockey equipment. Each session will have a 40 minute skill component with a 10 minute scrimmage.  

Equipment:  Players must wear full hockey equipment including helemet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants and shin pads. YMHC provides a sweater and pair of hockey socks. Mouth guards are highly recommended. 

Priority Placement:  Particiant's of our program will be given priority into YMHC in connection with the 2019 / 2020 season.  Particiapnt's who participate in both sessions will have  priority over players who participate in just one. 

Pre-registration for the 2018 fall session will commence Saturday April 14, 2018 by email. 

Pre-registration for the 2019 winter session will commence Monday November 19, 2018.   This date has been delayed from Monday November 5, 2018.
