Q4: What is the difference between House League (H)L, Select (SEL, NYHL) & REP (GTHL)?

Select is a program for players ages U8 - U18 who want to compete at a higher level, play House League for York Mills, and have completed a successful tryout. Select teams will provide additional ice time for tryouts and weekly practices, exhibition games with NYHL teams and outside competition, NYHL league games from mid-October through to the end of February, playoff round beginning March through the end of April and tournament opportunities throughout the year.

Rep Program - provides an opportunity for players seeking a high level of competitive play through participation in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). The YMHC Rep program is not associated with the YMHC House League or Select programs however players participating in these programs may try out for a YMHC Rep team. Select teams will provide additional ice time for tryouts and weekly practices, exhibition games with GTHL teams and outside competition, GTHL league games from October through to the end of February, playoff round beginning March through the end of April and tournament opportunities throughout the year. Currently YMHC has 6 Rep teams at the U11A, U13A, U14A, U15A, U17A and U18AA levels. Tryouts for these teams are held at the beginning of May or in September.
