Players Code of Conduct

YMHC aims to provide all players with a safe, fun and inclusive environment in which they may learn the game of hockey with strong emphasis on equal ice time, team play and sportsmanship. Players can be removed from the house league program if they do not comply with the following rules and guidelines. All players are expected to follow the rules and guidelines below:

Play the game for fun, and not to please a parent, guest or coach.

Play by the rules of YMHC House League Hockey and in the spirit of the game.

Remember that winning isn’t everything. Having fun, improving skills, Making friends and doing your best are important.

Remember that Officials and Coaches are there to help you. Do no argue with the officials or Coaches. Direct all concerns to your Coaches or Convenor. Accept decisions and show Officials and Coaches respect.

Conduct yourself with respect and dignity at all times. Players are not permitted to “mouth-off”, curse or use foul language, slam sticks, or throw equipment because this behaviour can spoil the activity for everyone. Fighting and temper tantrums will not be tolerated.

Show good sportsmanship at all times, both when winning and losing.

Show support and respect for teammates and opponents at all times.

Players will not tease, ridicule, put down or make fun of any players at any time for any reason. No bullying of any kind will be tolerated.

Show respect to the arena facilities and attendants. Do not enter the arena ice surface until arena staff give permission.
